tiny pieces first. had to cut out while retaining support. zero grain breakage. tried to retain offcuts where possible so grain for eye-spots, etc, would match body
template epoxied to masking tape. remove template from offcuts and reapply to inserts before epoxying joints to continue cutting the next layer.
