I have always had a high tolerance to substances. And then half a child’s dose of aripiprazole sent me loopy for a week.

I think this is because of dodgy dopamine receptors. Substances like alcohol, cocaine, nicotine, adhd meds; these all increase the amount of dopamine released. I have a high tolerance to these, because my synapses are leaky.

But aripiprazole was a plug for the leaky sink. So the taps were still used to spraying like the sink was losing water, but the rate of loss was drastically reduced.

I have a high tolerance to substances which increase levels of dopamine, since I have no problem with overall levels of dopamine. In fact my body is used to huge ups and downs so getting smashed is second nature.

The issue with aripiprazole was also the fix: it plugged the sink.
