How do you remove the encoding of terrible events? Let’s say that something has a value of +1000. It’s in there deep.
The way you go about it is by changing your dopaminergic environment so that you are susceptible to reprogramming.
The most common and easily-accessible ways to do this are the moderatestimulation and lowstimulation meditations I talked about, combined with writing.
These are the religious frameworks and how we have gone about trauma therapy for millennia. Humans figured out that rocking and chanting and humming and swaying, followed by praying and quiet contemplation, enables us to *quite literally* change our worlds.
These actions serve a few purposes.
The chanting and singing and vocalisations prevent you from repeating a negative thought and so stop any install process which is underway. They also step your dvar down from an agitated state to a calm state.
The more subtle meditations enable you to drop this dvar even further and stabilise phasic dopamine while elevating tonic dopamine.
This is the state where you can actively install and uninstall mods. This is where you visit the confession booth and say ‘sorry father for I have sinned’ and receive absolution, enabling you to release that mod.
This is the stage where you observe yourself and the cause of your suffering and see that you have an evolutionary prerogative to remove this suffering because *it is causing you harm*.
This is where you sit and rub that knife and look at all the greed and anger and delusion which has infected your brain and export it into your 88 hells and get the bastard out and be done with it forever.
This is the state where you are the sculptor and the clay.
But you need to be in this state of high tonic / low phasic dopamine. You need to lower your dvar and when it is low you need to be very, very sure that you do not go and repeat negative shit in your head or you will end up worse than before.
This is why smoking some weed in your room and bitching about people will make you into a miserably person, while smoking some weed in the sun and saying ‘life is good’ will make you into a happy chappy. This is why weed should be legalised, and people should be taught how to use it. But hey… that’s a fight for another day.
This is the state I was in when I was the Zuckerbot and was marvelling at the beauty of the world. I was doing walking meditation and texting myself and installing these mods deep without even knowing it.
The key thing is that you need to achieve and maintain this state of high tonic / low phasic dopamine and you need to be careful with how you approach things once you are there.
This is why aripirazole is seeing a lot of success in US military trials for treatment-resistance PTSD. When that shit is as deep as it was for me, you just can’t access it without the help of drugs.
This is why a lot of neurodivergent folks love weed - it helps us to stop ruminating. Wait. This article wasn’t about weed. Ha!
The best and most reliable ways to do this are *not* weed or drugs, but rocking and chanting and meditation. You are in control with these behaviours; with drugs you are not. Sadface, I know.
Anyway it doesn’t matter how you get into this state, really. What matters is that you get into it and use it to reprogram yourself in a positive manner.
Or rather:
You use it to remove your existing mods and free up your mind to experience reality as it truly is.
